Description:

Assists eligible residents of Duval County, including the Beaches and Town of Baldwin, with rent, mortgage and utility payments, or with rent and utility deposits, depending on the circumstances. Availability of assistance is dependent upon availability of funds.

Hours:

Appointment line opens Monday-Friday at 09:30am.

Intake Process:

The appointment line opens at 9:30am Monday through Friday and is open only until all appointments have been filled. Appointments are given on a first-call, first-served basis and are scheduled for the following business day.
Due to the high volume of calls, appointments fill quickly and individuals may find it necessary to call daily for extended periods of time.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be resident of a property located in Duval County and must not have received assistance from the program within the past 24 months.
Lease must be in the primary applicant!€™s name, and the applicant must be responsible for paying a portion or the full amount of the rent.
Must not have received financial assistance from the program within the past 24 months, unless a victim of a fire or condemnation.
If previously denied, there is a 90 day waiting period to reapply.
Proof of primary residency may be required.
Applicant may only use rent funds toward the current residential dwelling for which they are applying for assistance.
Total gross household income must not exceed 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
Must have valid Florida driver's license or state ID.
Must be in a documentable, unavoidable crisis situation.
Must have suffered a documentable loss of income within past 120 days (4 months) or had to redirect resources due to an unanticipated, documentable emergency expense.
For housing assistance: must have a written proof of demand for pay, eviction, foreclosure, fire or condemnation. Proof of primary residency may be required.
For utility assistance: must have shut-off notice or or have already been shut off, and be the owner of the account.
