Description:

They provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families (this includes individuals without children), the elderly and the disabled. The housing is limited to low-income families or individuals and offer a Section Eight Housing Choice Voucher Home Ownership Program for families which assist with payments to help pay the costs of home ownership. Section Eight waitlist is currently closed.

Eligibility:

Annual gross income based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the current year
Ineligible if 18 years of age and above and arrested for drug-related or violent criminal activity within the last five years
US citizenship or eligible immigration status
Section Eight wait list is open every Third Wed of the month (9am-Noon) to submit application.
Have been assisted by the Section Eight rental assistance program for a minimum of 12 months
Be employed full-time for the past year and have a total family income that is not less than the Federal minimum hourly wage multiplied by 2,000 hours
* In the case of disabled families; the minimum income shall be equal to the monthly SSI for an individual living alone (or paying his or her share of food and housing costs)
* Attend and satisfactorily complete a pre-assistance Home Ownership and Housing Counseling program required by the FCHA*
