Description:

They admit at-risk children between the ages of six to 16 years old whose parents are no longer able to provide care. Children are accepted based on need without regard to cost and the ranch admits children from all over the country but Florida residents have the first priority for admission. The ranch serves Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns Counties and does not offer emergency or temporary placement.

Hours:

Mon-Thu - 9:00am to 4:30pm

Intake Process:

Judges, community agencies, ministries and churches, school counselors, and individuals may refer children
Private referrals are encouraged
Call or email the Childcare Office for information about application process

Program Fees:

No charge for qualified children

Eligibility:

Boys and girls aged six-16 years old (full sibling groups will be given special age consideration)
Children of 12 years or older must realize the need/benefit for placement at Seamark and be cooperative in the program
IQ of 75 and above
Children with mild emotional and/or behavioral problems. Children with more severe problems will be considered on a case-by-case basis
No active or current suicidal or homicidal threat, ideology or behavior
No active or past fire-starting threats or behavior
No physical or mental handicap that will inhibit the responsible use and care of farm equipment and animals
All caregiver's involved in the child's life must sign a letter of agreement or the Seamark's placement and fully
cooperate with the treatment plan
