Description:
Responds to reports of child abuse and neglect and coordinates direct services with the Department of Children and Families and law enforcement offices in an eight county catchment area: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, Flagler, St. Johns, and Volusia Counties. Program is intended to supplement the child protective investigation activities of DCF or law enforcement by providing multidisciplinary assessment services to children and families involved in child abuse and neglect investigations and crimes against children. Services include forensic child interviews, medical examinations and consultations, psychosocial evaluations, court testimony, information and referrals and case management. The objectives include: identification of child abuse and neglect, assessments focusing on child maltreatment, safety and risk factors; intervention through multidisciplinary staffing, expert court testimony, direct service referrals and recommendations that support child safety.
