Description:
Provides assistance for home energy emergencies to qualified, low-income households with at least one person 60 years of age or older. Applicant households must meet financial eligibility guidelines and have an imminent energy crisis. A crisis may be an impending cut-off of utility services or an unusually hot or cold season energy expense, resulting in a past due account.
Hours:
Mon-Fri - 8:00am to 5:00pm
Intake Process:
Seniors can receive benefits of up to $600 twice per year.
Picture ID for household members age 18 or older.
SS cards for all household residents.
Birth certificate for household members under age 18.
Proof of household income for all household members 18 and older.
Current electric, gas or fuel bill information.
Proof of disability for anyone in the household that is disabled.
Income for 3 months prior to an appointment date for those 18 years of age and older.
Lease and Notice of Tenant's Rent and Utility Reimbursement
Subsidy if client lives in HUD housing
Most recent utility bill with disconnection notice or gas bill with disconnection.
Food Stamp approval; notice of case action letter; if applicable for the current year.
