Description:

Provides limited rental and utility payment assistance to individuals and families living in St. Johns County with a documented financial crisis. Assistance can only be provided once in an 18 month period. Electric payment assistance is available for St. Johns County residents ages 60 or older through the Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP). Payments for EHEAP are made directly to the vendor or landlord, if utilities are included with rent. Applications can be completed on the website and require all documentation to be submitted.

Hours:

Mon-Fri - 8:00am to 5:00pm

Intake Process:

Clients are to call for assistance. The online application must be completed and submitted with other required documents:
Documented hardship
St. Johns County Photo ID and Social Security card for all members of household
Proof of income for last 30 days
Bank statements for last 30 days
Past due utility bill
Three day notice or letter from landlord stating the amount due
Copy of the full lease
