Description:
Provides free group and/or individual classes to students aged 16 years or older in the following areas: Basic Literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), GED test preparation, U.S. citizenship test preparation. Students participate in computer assisted, small group, or one-on-one tutoring. Classes that are offered in the morning, afternoon, and evening based on the student!s current reading abilities and the availability of tutors.
Hours:
Monday-Friday: 09:30 am-04:00 pm. Class times vary based on session and available tutors.
Intake Process:
Walk in to apply.
Program Fees:
No fee for tutoring. May require a minimal fixed fee for workbooks and other materials.
Languages:
English, Spanish.
Eligibility:
Serve St. Johns residents age 16 or older Age 16 or older who currently reads at or below a 9th grade level. Must speak basic English.
