This is a division of the Department of Elder Affairs that offers free service to help seniors decide the best way to care for themselves if long term care is needed. They provide a mandated preadmission screening program for nursing home applicants; and they are required to perform an assessment or review of each individual requesting Medicaid reimbursement for nursing home facility placement.
