Description:

Florida Youth Challenge Academy (FLYCA) is a voluntary program geared toward Florida!€™s 16 to 18 year old at-risk youth. Florida Youth Challenge Academy program consists of a five month residential phase and a 12 month post-residential phase. Florida Youth Challenge Academy residential phase of the program takes place in a highly disciplined and motivational environment promoting structure and academics. Florida Youth Challenge Academy post residential phase takes place after graduation from the residential phase and is a time when the cadet uses the skills learned in the residential phase through their placement in either a job, further education or the military.

Mon-Fri - 8:00am to 6:00pm

Eligibility:

At-risk youth (16 - 18) years of age
May turn 19 years of age one day after admissions day
Citizen or Legal resident of the US and Florida
Volunteer; not court-ordered to attend
Not charged, under indictment, or awaiting sentencing
Free of illegal drugs
Physically and mentally able to complete the program
Be interviewed and attend orientation
