Also, those falling behind on mortgage payments may discuss how a chapter 13 bankruptcy can stop foreclosure and save the family home. Calls and advice are free.

Callers with unsecured debts such as credit cards or medical debt speak directly with experienced counselors to discuss programs to reduce payments, interest and late fees. Under a debt management, counselors can contact creditors and reduce payments, interest, and even principal amounts owed. These steps can help families reduce debt and avoid bankruptcy. Description
Borrowers with Federal Student Loans can speak to experienced counselors to discuss forgiveness programs and/or programs to reduce monthly payments. Callers may be eligible for smaller payments due to family size, amount of debt, hardship, and other circumstances. Counselors will match callers with appropriate government programs such as SAVE, PAYE, PSLF among others for the most relief.
