Description:

Operates programs that allow people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech impairments to communicate through a communications assistant via standard telephone or the Internet. The communications assistant relays TTY (text telephone or telecommunications device for deaf and hard of hearing individuals) to the telephone user and types that person's response back to the TTY user. Florida Telecommunications Relay provide three options when using a telephone relay service are voice carry-over, hearing carry-over, and speech-to-speech. Equipment is disbursed and maintained by Independent Living Resource Center Jacksonville and other locations. Telecommunication relay services can be reached by dialing 711.

Monday-Friday: 08:00 am-05:00 pm.

Call for an appointment or download application from website.

Program Fees:

Fees for interpreter services; To receive a no cost TTY phone available to all eligible adults.

English.

Eligibility:

Serves permanent Florida residents age three or older and certified as deaf, hearing impaired, speech impaired, deaf, or blind.
