Restitution Centers

Taxonomy Code: FF-0500.1250-700

Community based facilities that provide a residential alternative to incarceration or other sanctions for nonviolent offenders who agree to work to pay restitution to their victims. Offenders serving their sentence at a restitution center may work for the center itself or for businesses in the community and surrender their paychecks and all other earnings to pay for their court-ordered restitution fines, court costs, room and board, and any other court-ordered payments. The purpose of residential restitution centers is to enforce the payment of restitution by offenders.
